The Mildas Plaza project was always going to be a challenging project. Anything built outside of Port Moresby or Lae requires a greater sense of attention to detail and an adept knowledge of construction within the Papua New Guinean context. A site in Madang would require a local contractor that understood the intricacies of construction work within the province. The need for local context and expertise was an imperative. We needed a contractor that could deliver on time and in budget.
This was integral in the rationale behind the selection of Ela Builder’s being awarded the contract to construct the now practically complete Mildas Plaza.
The Building that now stands at the Mildas Plaza is testament to Ela Builder’s capacity to construct a project during one of the most difficult times in our country’s history. The arrival of Covid19 in PNG stalled multiple projects throughout the country, however even with all these new challenges, Ela Builder’s adapted and work progressed on the Mildas Plaza. I would not hesitate to recommend Ela Builder’s for future work be it residential, industrial or commercial in nature.
